What are you most looking forward to by participating in the S.C.A.R.F. Program this year?
I would like to gain research and hands-on experience through the SCARF program. I have had very minimal
opportunities to engage in all-out, extensive research
throughout all my years of high school, so I believe
SCARF would provide me the necessary opportunities to fulfill such desires. Whether it be collaborative to
independent research projects, I understand research is a vital aspect of both college undergraduate and
graduate reputation, therefore I believe getting a head start by attaining experience from SCARF would be a great initial stepping stone. Additionally, improving my
dexterity skills in handling equipment (ranging from
large medical machinery to minuscule medical
equipment used in the operating room) is also an
aspect I would like to improve by traversing through this program. More exposure to what medical equipment is handled as well as their varying functions would be largely advantageous. Apart from the medically intensive aspects of what I'd like to gain through this program, I would also like to gain and improve upon the experience of working with a team and engaging in effective teamwork. Across all facets of
health care, it is to my understanding that teamwork makes the dream work, so I would like to expand on
that with the help of SCARF's immersive experiences.
What do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember that I am a hard worker and a good friend, and that I am always willing to work with others so we can bring each other up.
