From law to finance to spirituality, intermittent guest speakers provide S.C.A.R.F. students a connection between healthcare and daily lifestyle routines.
Thank you to our two speakers, Nancy Belda and Michelle from Zoll Medical Corporation! Nancy presented on visualizing success and Michelle taught us about the Zoll Life Vest.
Our interns were lucky to have two amazing speakers today. Nurse practitioner, Vanessa, presented a case study on paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and even gave a quiz! Then Robin from the company Medtronic came to teach our students about their new Micra Transcatheter Pacing System - the world’s smallest pacemaker. This incredible device is minimally invasive and doesn’t require the traditional leads that other models require.
Joe W. came to speak to our students about patient empowerment. He discussed ways that healthcare providers can work with the patients to ensure a successful health outcome. He provided insight as both a patient and someone involved in the medical field.
