What are you most looking forward to by participating in the S.C.A.R.F. Program this year?
I am hoping to gain additional leadership skills, more shadowing experience, more career guidance, and more group research opportunities.
I learned so much about the healthcare environment by shadowing Dr. Nguyen and the nurse practitioners. I remember spending so much time on the case summaries of each patient because each experience was so unique. The interactions between Dr. Nguyen
and the patients not only introduced me to new
conditions and symptoms but also the positive
environment fostered by Dr. Nguyen which introduced me to the unique healthcare provider-patient
relationships that I hope to replicate when I eventually work in the medical field. Many of the patients would be so happy to see Dr. Nguyen, despite receiving bad news about their health. I remember one of the patients giving Dr. Nguyen a birthday cake when it was the patient’s birthday. Interactions like this show the passion Dr. Nguyen has for his career, and by
shadowing Dr. Nguyen I hope I can continue to learn from his experiences,
What do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to always remember that I have an amazing music taste. Spotify playlist making is honestly something of an art, and I personally think that I've perfected it.
