What are you most looking forward to by participating in the S.C.A.R.F. Program this year?
Through this program, I want to gain real-world
experience that connects with what I have been
learning in school. I am especially interested in learning more about how sudden cardiac arrest is treated and how to educate others about prevention. I have already
volunteered at OSF HealthCare, where I gained handson
experience in patient care, and I also attended the
UC Irvine MedAcademy, which exposed me to medical procedures like CPR and suturing. However, I am hoping
this program will provide me with more practical
experience and deeper knowledge of the medical field —especially in areas like emergency care and
cardiology. I would love the chance to learn from
mentors who can show me what it is really like to work
in healthcare and help me think about my future in
medicine, whether that is in clinical care or as a leader in the medical community.
