Meet the Class
Where will you be in school next year?
Junior at Huntley H.S.
How many years have you been in S.C.A.R.F.?
What made you want to join S.C.A.R.F.?
In my life, I am very active in sports and my community. When I heard that sudden cardiac death impacts so many people's lives, I knew I had to get involved with this program. I try to learn everything I can, from everyone I can but I never thought I'd have the opportunity to learn from medical professionals so early in my high school career. My personal goal is to take the knowledge I acquire through this experience back to my community so that we can all continue to live the life we enjoy, for the longest time possible.
What are you hoping to get out of S.C.A.R.F. this year?
I am hoping that my S.C.A.R.F. experience opens my eyes not only to what it is actually like to work in the cardiac field but to what it would be like to work so closely with a group of like-minded peers. I am looking forward to learning about their lives and their ideas. As I sat in the interview, I was so impressed by the handful of peers sitting around the table with me. From just learning about this program, I have figured out that there is so much that we can do to share information with the community. My goal is to reach out to people outside of this program and share with them what I learn through S.C.A.R.F. I can't wait to hear what everyone else in the program has accomplished so far in their life and am excited to think about what we will accomplish together.
What's a fun fact about you?
I drive a minivan and am excited about it! I am probably the only teenager excited to be driving a minivan, but I am because I can fit my stand up paddle board (which is 9’6 long), tennis rackets, softball equipment in it and still have room for a friend!
