Meet the Team
Dr. Sarah Alfano
Director of Clinical Information & Telemedicine
Dr. Sarah Alfano earned her medical degree from American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine after graduating from Boston University with a B.S. in Psychology. In addition, she has a B.S. in Medical Science and recently earned Masters degrees in both Business Administration (MBA) and Public Health (MPH).
Dr. Alfano joined S.C.A.R.F. in 2016 and quickly developed the S.T.A.Y. C.A.L.M. initiative dedicated to community education regarding sudden cardiac arrest and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). She is now responsible for S.C.A.R.F.'s AED Donation Program, approving donations and coordinating with outside organizations so that S.C.A.R.F. can gift these life-saving devices.
Her own experience transitioning from high school to undergraduate studies to medical school and returning for her dual MBA-MPH degree provides a valuable resource for our S.C.A.R.F. interns and ambassadors. She remains heavily involved in curriculum development for the S.C.A.R.F. Mentorship & Career Guidance Program. Her goal is to mentor, motivate, and support future physicians in our community by instilling within them the values of critical thinking, teamwork, and higher education.
She currently lives in Virginia with her husband, Dave, her two daughters (Charlie and Noah), and her rescue dogs (Streeter and Derby). She continues to work remotely to support S.C.A.R.F.'s mission to eradicate the #1 killer in the U.S. today.
