Meet the Class
Where will you be in school next year?
Freshmen at University of Illinois
How many years have you been in S.C.A.R.F.?
What made you want to join S.C.A.R.F.?
I wanted to join SCARF because I wanted not just to learn about cardiology, but professionalism and community service as well. I wanted to get a reinforcement in my interest and passion for medicine, and SCARF gave me that. Not only did I learn about sudden cardiac death and myocardial infarction, but I also learned about giving back to my community and working with my peers to improve lives around us through the pillars of higher education, critical thinking, and teamwork.
What are you hoping to get out of S.C.A.R.F. this year?
This year in SCARF, I hope to further expand on my knowledge from last year's program. I hope to work closely with Dr. Nguyen again and gain more insight on electrocardiology, which I can use to my advantage in my undergraduate education. Lastly, I want to expand on last year's symposium project: supplements. I want to conduct more research on vasodilatory supplements so I can further educate my community about their importance and hopefully save lives.
What's a fun fact about you?
I am in drumline and have been playing the drums for 8 years.
