Meet the Class

Avisha Thota

Where will you be in school next year?

Sophomore at Adlai E. Stevenson H.S.

How many years have you been in S.C.A.R.F.?

1st year

What made you want to join S.C.A.R.F.?

SCARF is a one of a kind unique internship/ research program. It not only educates us about the medical aspect of sudden cardiac death, but also teaches us life skills and gives back to ur community. I got interested in SCARF when I heard about that it was a program in the medical field. Once I learned more about the program, I got interested in the ways the program could teach about not only medical skills, but also life skills.

What are you hoping to get out of S.C.A.R.F. this year?

SCARF has many aspects that help us learn and grow as an individual. I personally would like to gain many important skills that I believe are necessary for a successful individual. First and foremost, I would like to gain knowledge on the medical aspect of sudden cardiac death and SCARF in general. I would also like to gain the ethical skills that are behind the hard work of a successful individual. Finally I would love to gain the confidence required to share my knowledge with everyone in my community.

What's a fun fact about you?

One of my passions is dancing. I dance in my free time and have been taking Indian classical dance classes for over 10 years.
