Dr. Nerihan "Nick'" Hadji earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to beginning medical school, he was able to complete a Master of Biomedical Professions from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master's in Public Health from Northern Illinois University where he also received his Bachelors of Science in Biology.
Dr. Hadji joined S.C.A.R.F. in 2012 as a medical intern after graduating from college. He was immersed in the field of cardiovascular health under the tutelage of Dr. Nguyen and his staff. During his time at S.C.A.R.F he was involved in community outreach such as discussing cardiovascular health to local organizations and at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. He also began to develop the Sleep Stops Atrial Fibrillation Effectively Trial aka SSAFE Trial. The goal of the study was to determine the impact that sleep apnea and compliance with CPAP therapy has on the prevalence of atrial fibrillation in our patient population.
He states his involvement in S.C.A.R.F will always be "lifelong" as this is not just an organization for him but this is his family. He is forever grateful for the opportunities that S.C.A.R.F. has given to him, including the guidance and mentorship needed in order to accomplish his goals and make his dreams come to fruition. He has been heavily involved in the mentorship program and his goal is to continue to educate bright, motivated, young minds and be someone that they can rely on to help make their dreams come true.
"It is and will always be about education, teamwork and critical thinking."
